FREEZING + BUFFERING RESCUE

Freeze. Reset. Release. Watch.

Do the full 30-minute reset first. It gives your ISP connection the best chance to release an old public IP and establish a fresh route before we investigate anything deeper.

Why we start with your internet provider

In MyUltra’s day-to-day support experience, the large majority of freezing and buffering reports begin somewhere in the customer’s internet path—not inside the MyUltra app. ISP congestion, routing changes, traffic management and stale connection sessions can all interrupt otherwise healthy viewing. That is why we start with the connection, every time.

02

First: we check your public IP

Your public IP address is the internet address presented by your router or provider. Before deeper troubleshooting, MyUltra checks the address currently reaching us. If it has not changed after a reset, the old ISP session or route may still be active, so changing app settings is unlikely to tell us anything useful yet.

  • Do not post your public IP in public messages
  • MyUltra uses it only for the support and routing check
  • A changed IP is useful evidence—not a guarantee that every fault has disappeared
03

The 30-minute reset—no shortcuts

This is the routine our team repeats every day because it clears many common connection problems. Set a timer and give it the full 30 minutes. A quick off-and-on restart is not the same thing.

  • Switch off the MyUltra box or Fire TV device
  • Switch off the router at the wall and unplug its power
  • Leave both devices completely off for at least 30 minutes
  • Reconnect the router first
  • Wait until the router is fully online and its internet lights are stable
  • Reconnect the viewing device last
  • Open MyUltra and test the same programme again
04

Why 30 minutes matters

A longer power-off period gives temporary ISP sessions and address leases more opportunity to expire. When the equipment reconnects, the provider may issue a different public IP or create a cleaner route. Some providers keep the same address for much longer, so a new IP cannot be guaranteed—but the full reset still creates a clean test point.

05

Reset done? We check again.

After the router and box are back online, MyUltra compares the connection information again. If the public IP has changed, brilliant: we can test from a fresh starting point. In many everyday cases, that is the moment freezing stops and smooth viewing returns.

06

What if the IP did not change?

Do not panic. Some providers use sticky dynamic addresses, carrier-grade NAT or fixed IP services. Tell MyUltra the 30-minute reset is complete and the address remained unchanged. We can advise whether to repeat the reset for longer, check the router connection method or ask the ISP to renew the connection.

  • Do not repeatedly change app settings while the ISP session is unchanged
  • Do not factory-reset the router unless your ISP tells you to
  • Keep any ISP username or router password private
07

The twice-weekly freedom reset

Make the 30-minute power-down part of normal home maintenance twice each week—at bedtime, while shopping or whenever nobody is watching. It refreshes the equipment, clears temporary sessions and gives the connection a regular clean start.

  • Pick two easy days each week
  • Power off both router and viewing device
  • Leave them off for the full 30 minutes
  • Bring the router online first and the viewing device second
  • Enjoy the simplest fix before a problem becomes an evening ruined
08

Fresh IP but still freezing? Now we investigate.

Once the reset is complete, deeper checks become worthwhile. Tell us whether every channel is affected or only one, whether other devices are using the connection, and whether the viewing device uses Wi‑Fi or an Ethernet cable. We can then separate an ISP-route problem from local Wi‑Fi, device, app or individual-stream issues.

09

What to send MyUltra

Say: “I completed the full 30-minute reset.” Then include your MyUltra username, device type, country, ISP name, whether the public IP changed, and the exact time the freezing occurred. That lets the team start from useful evidence instead of asking you to repeat the basics.

  • Never send your password
  • A photo of the frozen screen can help
  • Keep the chat open while the account and connection are checked
